I went to see the Helvetica documentary last night with some people from school. VFS was one of the sponsors for the viewing in Vancouver. It was really well done, and very interesting.
It wasn’t a skewed look at how great Helvetica is, though there was some of that of course. But we got a chance to see interviews with famous designers, and type designers who don’t all love Helvetica. It was really neat to see. We also got to enjoy a short panel discussion of Gary Hustwist, Douglas Coupland, and Jim Rimmer after the film.
I highly suggest everyone go see it!
