So tomorrow we’re back in class for Term 5.

We’re focusing on our grad projects this term while taking a minimum of 3 electives. I chose Advanced 2D graphics, Advanced Print & Typography, and Advanced Interface Design. I’m anxious to see how that goes, as apparently we have no homework for those classes except for the interface design class. I’m really looking forward to focusing on the grad project. I’ve got lots of work to do.

I did my focus group over the break with someone from my target audience - so infact it was more of an interview for research purposes. It went very well, and I got it all on video. Good experience to go through, but when I do another one later on in the project, I’ll know exactly what to expect, and how to prepare.

We also have a new term of Digital Designers coming in all fresh faced and fancy free. We’ll be smirking thinking - you have no idea what you got yourself into! Jokes, jokes. But it definitely shocked our class when we first came in - the amount of work they throw at you.. it’s throwing us into the bear pit on day one. It does us all a little good though, too - also weeds out the weak!

We’ll see how tomorrow goes. The schedules for this term are fairly open, which is good for our final stuff. We have our first class, err workshop tomorrow at 1pm for Reason - the class we never got during our previous terms which we were supposed to have. It should be fun, Reason is a good software, but it’s verrrry big. I’m curious to see what they plan on teaching us in this one day workshop. I was lucky enough to have learned Reason during my time at the Langara Electronic Media design program, and I am familiar with how it works. Also, with previous training in music and music theory it makes it a little less of an uphill battle to learn to use.

Well, I am sitting in the brand new Waves that popped up near my house, so it’s a nice familiar spot - like the one downtown by our campus. But it’s back to actually getting some work done. I’ve got another advisor meeting with Mark Busse on Tuesday afternoon.. time to get back to it.
