- Font Friday
It’s that time again..Here is my font choice for today.
Avenir Next font weights
The Beautiful Stranger
Or why there´s now an Avenir Next
While Adrian Frutiger has created such famous typefaces as Univers™ or Frutiger™, another matter has remained very close to his heart – the design of his linear sans serif – the Avenir.
In 1988, the Swiss […]
- Places to check out
There are two places that I plan on checking out..that is, when money decides to become a part of my life again.
Occupied is a super cute shoppe in Gastown. It’s a store full of imported lovables, toys, kitchenwware and many shelves full of neat things. It was very hard to not take out the plastic […]
- Experiments
Our first class with Topo, we really got a chance to play, and get away from the computers.
It was really helpful and satisfying to create things with my hands. I don’t think I had done that in a long time. With the development of new technology, designers seem to rush to their computers, sit at […]
- Blog mention
Wow! The VFS blog made mention of some of our students in DD08!
It’s great to be able to post up my work from past terms, and current projects.. not only to share with other students, or prospective students, but also to track my own progress as a designer. It takes a lot, as a designer, […]

I really enjoyed her classes, and got into the final project. We […]

At the start […]
- Some Term 1 Work
I decided to hunt through the old hard drive, and post up some work I did during the past 3 terms.
This is a piece I did for our 2d graphics course in term 1. We had to create a new window display. We actually went out on a field trip around downtown Vancouver to take […]
- Font Friday
Considering I missed last Friday’s Font post, I decided to move it to Monday -giving Monday one more chance to be cool.
Browsing through some of my del.icio.us links, I revisited two font foundries I currently enjoy.
Underware is a great type foundry, where I actually purchased my very first font a few years ago, called […]
- A typographic book search
A little while ago, a friend came across an interesting search engine that displayed the results by writing out the name using the books that matched the search.
I searched my name, and it came back with this. You can try your own searches at Amaztype. It’s a smart, and clever way of approaching a search.
